DONNY LANDERS IV
A Lifelong Learner
Originally from San Francisco, Donny moved to Boston in 2008 to study music education and film composition at Berklee College of Music. His first teaching studio opened in Newton in April 2010.
After graduate studies in classical composition at Longy Conservatory of Bard College in Cambridge, Donny taught general, choral and string music education in Newton Public Schools, while expanding his private teaching studio.
In 2015, Donny made the decision to focus on private teaching. He now teaches six days a week, with over fifty-five private students each week during the academic year.
Donny is president of the Suzuki Association of Massachusetts, which supports local teachers and students in their Suzuki journeys.
Donny discovered the revolutionary Suzuki approach while attending the Holy Names University Summer Suzuki Institute, directed by Caroline Fraser. Donny is fully certified in all seven Suzuki piano volumes by the Suzuki Association of the Americas. He continues to take teacher training courses to continue his professional development and become the best music educator and human being he can be.
